Field Trips

The Kindergarten class take 3 to 4 field trips throughout the school year. We plan our field trips around plays offered at The Paramount in Bristol, special exhibits at The Hands On Museum in Johnson City, and end of the year field trips. We appreciate parent chaperones who assist us with field trips. Because field trips are a part of our academic program, we ask that parents abide by our "Chaperone Guidelines" to help ensure that each child has a safe and fun learning experience. Parent chaperones will be in charge of a small group of children and due to the importance of this task, we ask that parents not bring younger siblings. Fee Waivers: If a family has signed a fee waiver, that family can not be required to pay the field trip fee. We will ask for sponsors for each field trip. We will not be able to go on the field trip if we do not raise enough money to cover the total expense for each child. Transportation: Parents may carpool and follow the bus. All Kindergarten students will ride the school bus with his/her teacher and classmates. Food: Usually lunch is planned as part of our field trips. You will be notified whether or not your child will be packing lunch or eating in a restaurant. Lunch arrangements are taken into consideration when looking at the individual cost to each child for the entire trip. Teachers will collect money for field trips and lunch orders will be taken ahead of time when eating in a restaurant. (This allows for quicker service and not taking the chance that your child may lose his/her lunch money.) |
