About Us
The Tennessee High School Library Media Center is an integral part of the total curriculum and as such contributes to all of its goals and objectives. The library media center's role is to broaden the educational experiences of users by linking them with materials, services, resources, and equipment in the most effective and efficient way possible.

Hours
We are open from 7:00 am to 3:30 pm Monday through Friday.
Additional hours may be available through tutoring services.
Goals and Objectives
  • To promote maximum use of the library media center, its services, and its materials allowing access by large groups, small groups, and individuals.
  • To provide a program of continuous instruction in library media skills through orientation, skills classes, and in-service education.
  • To foster good reading habits and arouse a lasting interest in books by the use of reader guidance and by providing a school book fair.
  • To provide a well-rounded collection of magazines and newspapers to support the curriculum and meet the students' recreational needs.
  • To encourage and develop good research habits.
  • To build an appreciation and foster positive attitudes of the library media center as a prime resource in the search of knowledge.
  • To enlist faculty and student participation in recommending, evaluating, and selecting books and audiovisual materials.
  • To offer teachers continued assistance in professional growth.
  • To provide technology that will prepare students for business and college worlds.
  • To promote and teach technology-based research programs to students, teachers, and parents.
  • To keep abreast of developments in the fields of education, school librarianship, and media technology.
  • To create an atmosphere that is inviting, attractive, and conducive to learning.
  • To establish an effective public relations program that interprets the role of the school library program to the school and to the community.
  • To provide a basic, curriculum-integrated, up-to-date collection of both print and non-print materials and equipment (including computers and related software).
  • To work cooperatively with teachers to reinforce classroom instruction in the use of the library media center and information resources.
  • To promote life-time use of library media centers.
