Prepare yourself for a mind-expanding and mouth-watering chocolate experience!
Here is something I bet you don't know...
Our class' favorite visitor, Uncle Tim (business-shrewd,
multi-zillionaire), has a very good memory. Think about our
weekly class-brainstorm sessions. Do you remember talking about
ways you could make money while in school and deciding to start a
chocolate business? Uncle Tim remembers. And Uncle Tim is very
impressed by your ingenuity. In fact, Uncle Tim is so delighted that you chose the chocolate business (yep, Uncle Tim loves chocolate!) that he will finance this business venture for the first six months.
Uncle Tim would like you to work in teams of four, each team experimenting with a different chocolate product. He will give each team $1,000 to buy supplies. He has even arranged for each team to use one of his fully-equipped hotel suites - complete with kitchen, computers, adult supervision, the works. Your parents and your school also support you in this venture. Of course, Uncle Tim expects you to keep up with your other school assignments while you turn into chocolate entrepreneurs. Wow! Can it get any better than this?
Well, there is a slight catch...
Even though the $1,000 is an outright gift, before Uncle Tim hands over a penny, he wants you to become very knowledgeable about your product - chocolate. He requires that each team create a presentation - in portfolio or digital format - as evidence of your chocolate smarts. This presentation will consist of four tasks, or "processes" which are labeled on the navigation menu. Finally, each of you must complete the chocolate trivia puzzle. Completing this WebQuest will be an exciting way to meet Uncle Tim's requirements. You will be surprised by what you learn and by how much more you will want to know!
In addition to Uncle Tim's requirements, each of you must create a list of chocolate trivia questions and answers. You will use these trivia questions next term to create a Microsoft PowerPoint Chocolate Jeopardy game.
