Strategic Plan

Plan Summary

(updated April 2024)

To maximize its effectiveness, the BTCS Strategic Plan is designed to be a workable, adaptable, evolving guide to drive the day-to-day decisions and activities within the district. The current Strategic Plan was crafted beginning in the fall of 2021 by approximately 22 BTCS stakeholders who served on four planning teams. Utilizing student data and various other recent surveys of stakeholders, the teams developed goals, strategies, action steps, responsible parties, timelines, and funding sources for all aspects of the plan. The original plan was approved by the Bristol Tennessee Board of Education on January 24, 2022.

The Strategic Plan is then used to inform the District Improvement Plan, which BTCS is required to submit to the Tennessee Department of Education annually. The annual planning process, at the beginning of each calendar year, provides the opportunity for a broad spectrum of stakeholders to revisit and refine the district's current and long-term goals and strategies. Following each District Improvement Planning cycle, the Strategic Plan is updated based on the outcomes of that process.

The Bristol Tennessee Board of Education receives a quarterly progress report regarding plan strategies. For questions regarding the BTCS Strategic Plan, please email Rebecca House.
