Congratulations to our Director of Schools Dr. Gary Lilly who received the 2017-2018 A. F. Bridges School System Administrator of the Year Award from the TSSAA for District 1.

The TSSAA promotes that for the past 19 years, the A.F. Bridges Awards program has recognized individuals that “represent what’s best in high school athletics.” Nominations for these awards are made by a Citizenship/Sportsmanship Committee from each athletic district before a final selection is made by a State Selection Committee.

Bernard Childress, executive director of the TSSAA stated, “Being recognized for one of these awards as a school or individual should be seen as one of the highest honors in high school athletics in our state. Those who receive the awards truly reflect what high school athletics should be about, and that’s good sportsmanship and good citizenship.”

The A.F. Bridges award is given annually in honor of the TSSAA’s first full-time executive secretary and established the first TSSAA state office in 1946.
