Model of Demonstration Schools

Anderson, Fairmount, and Holston View elementary schools have been selected by the Tennessee Tiered Supports Center (TSC) as RTI2-B Model of Demonstration Schools—Gold Level for 2021-2022. There are more than 1,800 schools across the state of Tennessee, and this year only 32 schools met the criteria to be selected at the Gold Level as an RTI2-B Model of Demonstration Schools.

The three schools participated in training and technical assistance and implemented a positive and proactive behavioral systems framework for all students. The RTI2-B framework consists of identifying common behavioral expectations across campus, teaching, re-teaching, reinforcing, and regularly acknowledging students, faculty, and families for exhibiting these expectations.

Anderson, Fairmount, and Holston View have applied this framework to improve their school climate and culture, student engagement, and school connectedness. In meeting this award criteria, the schools demonstrated use of school-wide behavioral data to inform teaching practices and levels of support provided to students based on need. Twice a year, they also reflected on overall fidelity to guide their implementation of the RTI2-B framework.

As an RTI2-B Model of Demonstration School—Gold Level for 2021-2022, Anderson, Fairmount, and Holston View can now serve as RTI2-B mentors to other schools across Tennessee.

RTI2-B training, technical assistance, and supports were provided to schools by Tennessee TSC (formerly Tennessee Behavior Supports Project), a technical assistance center funded under a grant contract with the State of Tennessee.
