Bristol Tennessee City Schools is excited to welcome Dr. Blair Henley as our new chief technology officer. For the past nine years, Dr. Henley has served as vice-president of information services and chief technology officer at Tusculum University. He was also the director of technology for the Niswonger Foundation’s Northeast College and Career Ready Consortium from 2010-2018. Dr. Henley is a familiar face at BTCS as he served as the CTE director and assistant principal at Tennessee High School from 2003 to 2011. He has extensive teaching experience at both the high school and college levels.

Bristol Tennessee City Schools is excited to announce new principal appointments for the 2020-2021 school year. Tanika Hardin, program assistant at Haynesfield Elementary School, has been named as the new principal of Haynesfield. Jeremy Humphrey, assistant principal at Elizabethton High School, has been named principal of Tennessee Online Public School.

Ms. Hardin has 16 years of experience as an educator at the elementary and middle school levels, with 13 of those with BTCS. She has served in her role as program assistant at Haynesfield for the past four years. Mr. Humphrey currently serves as an assistant principal at Elizabethton High School, a position he has held since 2018. Prior to becoming a secondary administrator, he taught high school math for nine years.

Bristol Tennessee City Schools is excited to announce two additional administrative appointments, also effective July 1, 2020. Dr. Amy Scott, who has served as principal of Vance Middle School for the past eight years, has been named secondary supervisor. Dr. Scott has extensive experience in both elementary and secondary administration. To fill the vacancy left by Dr. Scott, Andy Arnold, who has been chief technology officer for the district for the past 15 years, has been appointed principal of Vance Middle School.  Mr. Arnold has extensive administrative experience, as well as a strong foundation of secondary teaching experience.

“Dr. Scott’s administrative experience combined with her knowledge of curriculum and passion for students make her an ideal candidate for secondary supervisor,” said Director of Schools Dr. Annette Tudor. “As for Mr. Arnold’s appointment, he has been an integral part of the curriculum team, which has helped make our 1:1 initiative successful as a collaborative effort between curriculum and technology. I am extremely excited to have these two outstanding individuals contributing in their new roles as we focus on the important work of reopening our schools and the completion of our new middle school.”

Bristol Tennessee City Schools is excited to announce two new administrative appointments, effective July 1, 2020. Jennifer Rouse, elementary curriculum and instruction supervisor, has been named student services supervisor. As a result of this appointment, Dr. Rachel Walk, principal of Haynesfield Elementary School, has been named elementary curriculum and instruction supervisor.

 “First, I want to thank Dr. Kyle Evans for serving as interim in the student services supervisor role for the past few months,” said Interim Director of Schools Dr. Annette Tudor. “Dr. Evans agreed to step in without hesitation and has provided continued stability, leadership, and unwavering support for staff and students. As we move forward, I am excited about the opportunities Ms. Rouse and Dr. Walk bring to their new roles with their expertise and many years of varied experiences.”

The district will begin the search process for a new principal for Haynesfield immediately. As part of the process, the Haynesfield community will have an opportunity to provide input in the search for a new principal.
