    In the school setting, occupational therapists use their expertise to help students prepare for and fulfill their academic roles. They also play an integral role in educating staff and parents. Occupational therapy is a related service that helps children benefit from their special education programs. Therapy addresses the foundational skills that help children achieve greater success in their academic learning. These skills include:
