Did you know that free and reduced lunch applications provide more benefits than just school meals?

  • Classroom Resources: increased funding for learning resources for the classroom.
  • Exam Fees: discounted fees on ACT, SAT, and AP exams.
  • College Application Fees: discounted fees on college applications with most schools.
  • Scholarship Opportunities: increased opportunities for college scholarships.

For students to receive free or reduced prices on school meals, they will need to have an approved application on file with the BTCS Department of School Nutrition.

BTCS would like to encourage all families to complete a meal benefits application to ensure the maximum benefit is provided to students and families. The process is completely CONFIDENTIAL!

You may more information about the USDA's Free and Reduced-Price Meals program, including the federal income eligibility chart, on the Tennessee Department of Education's website.

The application takes about five minutes to complete. The BTCS Department of School Nutrition can assist you in completing if needed. Call 423.652.9222 to learn more.
