Our BTCS Family Resource Center is working closely with school staff and other community organizations to assess and meet the needs of students and families during this extended school closure due to COVID-19. Mental Health Support

During this difficult time, if you feel that you or a loved one needs mental health or other essential support, please reach out for help. As always, if there is a true emergency, please call 911 or visit your nearest emergency room.

Emergency Cash Assistance

The Tennessee Department of Human Services (TDHS) is making essential financial resources available to families that have been significantly impacted by the COVID-19 emergency. Families can apply online for up to two months of emergency cash assistance if they were employed as of March 11, 2020, and they have lost employment or at least 50% of their earned income as a result of the pandemic. Find out how to apply and if you might qualify.

Internet Access

Charter Communications will offer free Spectrum broadband and Wi-Fi access for 60 days to households with K-12 and/or college students who do not already have a Spectrum broadband subscription at any service level up to 100 Mbps. To enroll call 1-844-488-8395.  Installation fees will be waived for new student households.

It is our understanding that you will need to call at the end of the 60 days to cancel the service to avoid future billing. Please discuss the complete terms of the offer with Charter Communications when setting up the service. BTCS accepts no responsibility for any charges incurred due to this offer.

Bristol Public Library

Bristol Public Library encourages patrons to utilize the library’s digital resources.  They offer the Bristol Herald Courier online and access to thousands of e-books free through Tennessee R.E.A.D.S. Please visit their website to learn more.


Kingsport YMCA Critical Use Childcare

The Kingsport YMCA is offering childcare for parents who are essential supply workers, first responders, medical personnel, or families who need childcare to be able to work and support their families.
